Acer palmatum ‘Verkade’s Jacus Potus’ is among a rare category of Japanese maple called Sessilifolium. These Japanese maples are known for their thin, feather like leaves. ‘Verkade’s Jacus Potus’ has excellent colors on these unique leaves. The leaves emerge deep red in the spring. The leaves then turn to a yellowish green in the summer. New growth will be deep red again on top of the yellow-green foliage. ‘Verkade’s Jacus Potus’ then turns a bright red in the fall.
