They don’t like too much water, they are very hardy in the winter while they are dormant, and they can handle a great deal of heat in the summer as well. The hardest thing is actually not to kill them with kindness by over-watering over-fertilizing. While Japanese maples are certainly easy to grow, the most important thing you can do to ensure its success is to plant your Japanese maple properly.
