Acer palmatum ‘Tom Thumb’ is a dwarf Japanese maple with ‘Mikawa yatsabusa’ lineage. ‘Tom Thumb’ stays very small and compact with the typical leaves of ‘Mikawa yatsabusa’. ‘Tom Thumb’ has more of a shrubby, rounded habit compared to others in the same family. ‘Tom Thumb’ comes out lime green in the spring before darkening to a dark green in the summer. Fall color is a very attractive orange.
