Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Torulosa’ is an upright, conical evergreen. The tips of the branches on this hinoki cypress twist and curl and even fuse together to make interesting fasciations. ‘Torulosa’ is a relatively small growing tree that will only reach about 5 feet tall over ten years. This tree can handle full sun in even the hottest climates and maintains an attractive green color throughout the year.
