Another of the probable hybrids between palmatum and shirasawanum, this great little red maple holds its fruit upright like a shirasawanum should. Spring color is a bright cherry red but hardens off to a dark maroon which remains most of the summer. In fact, it holds red color into the summer longer than the other red shirasawanums in hotter climates and even longer than many palmatums. Fall color is red or orange and wonderful.
