With very deeply divided almost apricot colored leaves in early spring this small tree adds subtle interest to the garden with both color and texture. In summer leaves remain bronze with sun or turn pale green in shade. 'Wou nishiki' tolerates sun well in cooler climates but prefers partial shade in warmer areas. In fall the foliage comes alive and turns fiery red and sometimes orange.
