Acer palmatum ‘Olsen’s Frosted Strawberry’

Harry Olsen discovered this selection as a seedling from Aka shigitatsu sawa. This is one of the brightest of the reticulated varieties. The pink colors in spring are unmatched but will become muted in summer especially in hot climates where it should be provided protection from afternoon sun. Fall color is orange. Deeply divided serrated leaves add to the appeal. The habit is upright and spreading.
