While reported to hold its red color until summer in some climates in hotter areas 'Kinran' starts off red in early spring quickly becoming green with a pink cast and then totally green. The name means woven with golden threads or brocade and this comes from the nice yellow veins running through the leaves. Fall color usually starts yellow or yellow and red in early fall and finishes completely red.
