With unusually large leaves for a tree considered dwarf, 'Green Elf' works well as a container tree or a smaller specimen in the garden. The large leaves almost look like a shirasawanum leaf.  New growth emerges light green in spring covered with a white pubescence. Summer leaves are darker green before turning mostly yellow in fall.
