Acer palmatum ‘Beni shichihenge’

Probably the best variegated maple in our collection. New growth emerges as a show stopping collage of red, pink, orange, cream and green and holding these beautiful colors well into the summer before finally changing to a nice cream and green. Adding to the mystic is this approximate translation of Beni shichihenge, red variegated ghost that changes.  Fall color is a distinctive shade of orange. 'Beni shichihenge' grows as a beautiful vase shaped tree when young becoming more round topped with age. The overall appearance is open and graceful.
