Acer palmatum ‘Baton Rouge’

Acer palmatum ‘Baton Rouge’ is an excellent, mid-sized coral bark Japanese maple. ‘Baton Rouge’ will not get as large as the popular ‘Sango kaku’, but grows nearly as fast. ‘Baton Rouge’ is also as heat tolerant as any other coral bark Japanese maple. ‘Baton Rouge’ will have traditional green leaves from spring through the summer. In the fall the leaves will turn to a bright yellow to orange before dropping for the winter. In the winter the bark will shine bright red. ‘Baton Rouge’ has exceptional bark color that will rival any coral bark Japanese maple variety.
