Acer x pseudosieboldianum ‘First Flame’ leafs out early in spring with a bright reddish orange color that is very striking. ‘First Flame’ has small, star shaped leaves that hold this orange color until summer when the leaves turn green. ‘First Flame’ has a compact upright habit, making it a perfect tree for almost any location. Like other Acer x pseudosieboldianum maples, ‘First Flame’ is extremely cold tolerant and is hardy up to zone 5.
