A small little lace leaf introduced by Talon Buchholz that is probably a cross between shirasawanum and palmatum found as a seedling off a shirasawanum. This cool little plant does hold its seeds erect or above the leaves. Leaves emerge red in spring turning green in summer. 'Kawaii' needs some protection from sun especially in hot climates. Named by Talon's Japanese wife, Haruko, upon first eying the plant she said kawaii which means cute in Japanese.
