Acer buergerianum ‘Mino yatsabusa’

The first thing you will notice about Mino yatsabusa is the strange little leaves on this maple. The very dominant long center lobe is flanked by two shorter lobes that extend out at nearly right angles, each lobe dominated by a prominent center vein. Mino yatsabusa may remain very small for years with a years growth only measured in centimeters. It is very easy to keep small in a container  which makes it great for bonsai. Even planted in the ground it can remain small for many years but once it starts to grow it grows very quickly. I have heard of trees 20 feet tall or taller in 15 years. Fall color ranges from bright red to orange.
